Abstract
Investigated is the thermal degradation of cotton fibers treated with sodium hydroxide. The effect of the degree of crystallization and polymerization and the content of carboxyl groups was determined. The results are analyzed focusing on the mechanisms of cellulose degradation. -- AATA
