Seven materials were tested as treatments for waterlogged leather. Following a discussion of the criteria for the assessments of treatments, each of the materials are described and the results of the tests summarised. It is concluded that peg and glycerol should not be used, bavon gives good results, fat liqueurs are limited, syntan and aluminium salts give uneven results, and chrome salts promise favorable results requiring further study.
