Abstract
Recent concern with preservation needs of space artifacts at the Space Science and Exploration Department of the NASM led to a seminar series designed to make staff of the curatorial departments aware of the latest techniques for preserving and storing artifact collections. The Smithsonian's Conservation Analytical Laboratory (CAL) played a key role getting the seminar series underway. CAL staff conducted seminars textile conservation, paper conservation, metals conservation, and painting conservation.
