The author discusses the problem of dust in the shops of ship modelbuilders. Virtually all shop power tools can be hooked to vacuum dust collectors. Hand sanding and grinding presents greater difficulty, with the residual dust becoming a real nuisance. To combat the problem, the author designed a draw down bench built around an industrial vacuum dust collector. The components are described, and prices given for each.
