Abstract
The interior stone cleaning and conservation project for Federal Hall illustrates a precess of defining and implementing a large scale project for the conservation of architectural materials. Techniques included detergent washing, chemical treatments and applications of a protective floor seal. An examination of the project delineates its essential phases and shows how each one - individually and combined - contribute to a successful result.
