This volume contains typed preprints of the papers presented at the 16th annual meeting of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works. The papers range from descriptions of particular analytical techniques to conservation strategies for specific collections. Material types covered include plaster statuary (the Ain Ghazal statues), frescoes, photographs, marble, maguey paper, and wood. The volume also contains abstracts of papers from the Objects Specialty Group, Paintings Specialty Group, Book and Paper Specialty Group, Textiles Specialty Group, Photographic Specialty Group, and Wood Artifacts Group, as well as Poster Session abstracts. Two pages near the end of the volume describe the various specialty groups, give a fee schedule, and list addresses of specialty group chairs. AIC Board of Directors and other Staff are also listed.
