Abstract
The linear exposure scale of Kodak Professional Direct Duplicating Film SO-015 has been extended from 0.8 to 1.60 DELTA log E at gamma 1.0. Resolution in excess of 150 cmm-1 was obtained using a glassless vacuum contact printing frame. The extended exposure scale resulted from the use of a combination exposure consisting of a uniform exposure followed by an image-forming exposure. The test program described was undertaken to investigate methods of obtaining accurate duplication of deteriorating historical photographic negatives.
