Abstract
The Getty Conservation Institute’s Latin American Consortium project prompted a study of how higher education is being transformed by electronic technology. The research influenced how the project used its own Web site for communicating and disseminating teaching resources. At the same time, it provided a look at the larger possibilities of the Internet as a pedagogical took for conservation education. Examples are provided of successful academic projects that use the Web to achieve teaching and learning objectives. -- SCMRE
