Abstract
Treating insect infestations in museum objects with low levels of oxygen has proved effective in recent decades. In this paper, the authors have evaluate the efficiency of a nitrogen-generating system, called Veloxy. Treatment of furniture infested by the common furniture beetle (Anobium punctatum) and the brown Lyctus beetle (L. brunneus), as well as treatment of saddles and related objects infested by the common clothes moth (Tineola bisselliella), was found to be successful. Preliminary recommendations for anoxic treatment are proposed. -- SCMRE
