This paper offers a critical review of the current situation regarding conservation issues in Brazil. The cultural heritage and the objects of our museums and private collections face several problems and risks. For this reason, several colleagues met to discuss improving standards and procedures regarding the loan of objects, something with which, we realized, Brazilian institutions have had little experience. Yet, there are more and more temporary exhibitions in our country. As such, we chose to emphasize the aspects of insurance, couriers and technical reports.
