Abstract
Reviews the nature of termites and the problems of termite control. Wood dwellers and ground dwellers are distinguished from each other, then broken down into further categories. Dry and damp wood termites are discussed; and the subterranean, mound-building, and carton-nest building ground termites are described. Included with each discussion are feeding and living habits. Both pre and post-construction control of both types of termites are outlined. The natural termite resistance of some woods is also presented. Appendices provide insecticide precautions and a list of 15 commonly used termiticides.
