Painting by I. Tuculescu, entitled <i>Folk Art Objects</i>, is now exhibited in the National Gallery of the Art Museum of S.R. of Romania.The support of pressed bardboard covered by a thin film of animal glue was seriously deformed, as a result of poor technique and of the picture's care to date. The artist had applied dilute tempera and oil colors to allow spreading. Thick layers of color were applied either with a knife or directly from the tube. The painting was left unvarnished.The restoration committee decided to transfer the layers onto a canvas support because there were no other viable methods of dealing with exaggerated deformations of the cardboard support and with the cleavage of the paint layers. This transfer is described in detail.
