Abstract
Gamma radiography was used to determine the thickness of the bronze casting. The object being very large, and located in the centre of a city, adequate safety precautions were carefully devised, and the work was carried out at night. Thicknesses were obtained by comparing radiographic densities with films made of a bronze wedge of similar composition. Information was also obtained on blow-holes, thermally induced cracks, imperfect fusion between casts and other irregularities in the casting. (See also IIC Abstracts, 5312, 5370).
