Micro-organisms which attack library materials are discussed. Methods to counterattack them are: preventative measures such as periodic cleaning of the library; Humidity and temperature control; Use of resistant materials in library equipment and conservation materials; Disinfection of library materials by physical methods, fumigants, and antibiotics.
