Thermoluminescence and archaeomagnetic dating have recently supported the antiquity of the ceramics from Glozel, France, which are generally believed to be recent forgeries. The archaeomagnetic dates might be explained, if the objects had been fired at a location other than Glozel. Petrographic examination of two ceramic samples and of the clay of Glozel indicates the local origin of the objects, and thus the mystery of Glozel remains unsolved.
