Abstract
The techniques described are a practical means of examining the surface of glass vessels at magnifications not otherwise possible. Ancient glass that has been mechanically cleaned may be differentiated from modern glass, but not ancient glass that has been chemically cleaned. Fifteen excellent photomicrographs illustrate this article.
