The depth of penetration of organic solvents, water and monomer methyl methacrylate into sandstone was measured. Different depths of penetration in vertical and horizontal direction were obtained. The results were compared with theoretical ideas, and good agreement was obtained. The penetration of polymer dispersions and polymer solutions was also studied. For penetration, the monomer methacrylate seems to be the most effective. -- AATA
