In the design, construction, and setting up of the Lila Acheson Wallace Galleries of Egyptian Art, a number of conservation concerns needed to be addressed: examination of objects to identify technology and material, and authentication in case of gold objects; reversal or removal of previous conservation treatments; removal and or replacement of old restorations in keeping with new policy; preparation of new mounts; and storage of mixed materials with different environmental requirements. The steps taken in the installation of these galleries are described, and problems encountered during this work are discussed. -- AATA
