Part I of the proposed handbook would contain equipment for pigment analysis, sampling techniques, properties of pigments, and microchemical tests. Part II would contain data for each pigment including chemical properties, optical properties and illustrations, data using various analytical tests, etc. Part III would contain physical properties of pigments, their chronology, preparation and interpretation of cross-sections, and methods for identification.
