During the past three summers, the Canadian Conservation Institute operated five mobile conservation laboratories to provide basic assistance to museums, galleries and other cultural institutions across Canada. The purpose, operational needs and outfitting of the laboratories are described, as well as examples of kinds of help they are able to provide. An inventory of the material and equipment carried by the mobile laboratory is given.
