The three swords dating from about the 11th or 10th century BC were examined by X-radiography and by sectioning which revealed that the hilts of the swords were assembled from several parts held together with rivets and bands. The hilt of one of them is leafed with copper. Exploded isometric diagrams are used to show the method of assembly. Metallographic studies on two swords shows that the iron is wrought and unevenly carburized. -- AATA
