The preconference Library Binding: Covering it All, held in June of 1983, in Los Angeles, is summarized. Of major concern were options to through-the-fold sewing and oversewing which is limited by new publishing methods (foldless publishing and small margined publishing). Alternatives to conventional rebinding are listed; a choice of method is to be based upon determining a record of use of the materials. A dialog between a representative of a library bindery and a preservation librarian relates how the respective parties view the problems related to non-commercial library binding. The qualifications of a binder capable of doing archival quality work are spelled out. A guide to the drafting of contracts recommends that the librarian, not the purchasing agent, handle the arrangements and design the document specific to the library's needs. -- AATA
