Abstract
The National Archives and Records Service has been working with the National Bureau of Standards to evaluate its preservation problems and set up a long-range plan for taking care of the three billion plus paper documents in its collections. The strategy, a conceptual model, is briefly described. The emphasis of dealing with the collection has shifted from treatment and copying to improvement of storage conditions. -- AATA
