Abstract
When charged particles induce nuclear reactions in surface layers the prompt charged particle products can best serve for an analytical method to determine surface concentrations because the energy of the particle is not only determined by the bombarding particle but also by the amount of energy lost by the bombarding particle in the target material before the nuclear reaction occurs.
