Abstract
The design and style of buttons worn by the US armed forces were changed radically and often during the period that began with the American Revolution and ended with the Spanish American War. These differences can be used in the identification of the various military units that were present during the occupation and dates during which the buttons were issued and worn. Includes a poor quality illustration of uniform buttons from fort sites in Florida.
