Abstract
Several instrumental techniques have been used in the identification of mineralogical composition of the samples: x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and thin section optical microscopy. Firing temperatures follow a gradient up to 1000°C. The conclusions are: 1) exclusive use of local clays; 2) signs of synthesis elements; 3) absence of vitrification, heating at temperatures below 800°C; 4) close relationship with the pottery of the Campos settlement, some 50 km away; and 5) possible existence of a specialized pottery in the Almanzora basin during the transit Neolithic to Copper Age and early stages of the Copper Age, ca. 2800-2000 BC.
