Abstract
Continuous electrical profiling can be undertaken with simple metallic probes, disk or spiked wheel, when the resistivity meter accepts high impedance contacts and has a very short measurement time; this is the case with the RMCA3 (up to 1.2 MOMEGA and 8 ms). A great number of measurements can be acquired, allowing for the elimination of erroneous values while keeping sufficient information. The processing of the survey at Balloy, Seine-et-Marne, France, has provided an opportunity to test the process of eliminating erroneous measurements. On each profile, likely thresholds are used first, followed by a median filtering with relative threshold. A 2D median filtering is then used to correct the stripping effect. In Balloy, after such treatment of the primary data, a Neolithic enclosure, already observed in the electromagnetic slingram survey, was seen. This turned out not to be the case on row electrical data due to the presence of numerous erroneous values.
