Abstract
The article reports the effects of dry oven aging on Whatman chromatography paper treated with commercially available methylcellulose (Methocel A, Dow Chemical) of different viscosities and at different concentrations. The viscosities of methylcellulose used were 15, 400, 1500, and 4000 cP at concentrations ranging from 1% weight/volume to 10% weight/volume. Changes over 42 days of dry oven aging are reported for loading factors, mass, folding endurance, objective color, surface pH, tensile strength, and maximum extension.
