Paper on the problems concerning the aquisition and display of transport artifacts. The restoration of two steam locomotives and two passenger cars is discussed. Four methods are briefly described. By contract with a wholly volunteer organization, employing the servicar of a regular railway-shop, sharing the job between the museum and the railway shop, and lastly doing as much as possible in situ .
