Abstract
The paper describes some properties of sandstone after impregnation by organosilicon components and epoxy resins. The results obtained show that organosilicon consolidants have better penetrating ability and do not change the color of stone. Also the vapor permeability of treated stone is better. The strength of sandstone after consolidation is higher in the latter case. After impregnation of sandstone by epoxy resin solution, a part of pores remained free for gases and vapors. Different methods of impregnation are mentioned. Neither organosilicon consolidants nor epoxy resins fix water soluble salts in the stone. See also AATA 15-1609 and 15-1610.
