Abstract
Presents the conservation and restoration interventions at the tomb of Nefertari and its wall paintings. The history of the graphic documentation of this tomb, considered the best of the whole valley, allowed an exact evaluation of the degradations suffered. Cleaning processes, emergency consolidation, and definitive treatments are described, as is the difficult removal of previous restoration. In addition, chemical analyses show that gum arabic was the binding medium used, huntite was the white pigment, and egg white was the varnish.
