Abstract
Itinerant potters in Cyprus until 30 years ago belonged to two categories: those who specialized in pithoi, and those who made the full ceramic repertoire. The itinerant potters interacted with villages in which brick firing kilns existed. Archaeological recognition of seasonal pottery production locations is also discussed in the context of the four villages which, in 1987, were home to the traditional potters of Cyprus.
