Abstract
The effectiveness of Brethane, the stone preservative developed by BRE and based on a trialkoxyalkylsilane, has now been demonstrated, at least in the short term. The results of exposure trials and laboratory tests just published, show that Brethane reduces the rate of stone decay substantially, and that it can be recommended for use on most cases of friable stonework.
