Abstract
The results of a recent source anallysis of a small series of secondarily worked obsidian artifacts from Tikal, Guatemala, showed a high proportion of Central Mexican obsidian among point knives, most of which occur in residential contexts. On the other hand, obsidian used for prismatic blades and for ceremonial deposits came predominantly from closer sources in Highland Guatemala. -- AATA
