Abstract
The wall of a cylindrical kiln, last fired in 1960, has been sampled in order to study the variations in the directions of remanent magnetism. The data are consistent with a tilting inwards of the wall by about.2 since last firing. The near remanent direction agrees well in declination with the value expected at the site, though the near inclination is slightly shallower, possibly due to a local distortion. It is concluded that evenly distributed wall samplings should give reliable archeomagnetic declinations. -- AATA
