The atmospheric dust inside the library was analyzed and compared to that of the external environment. Notable differences in quantity but not in quality emerged from this comparison, probably because there is a thermo-ventilation system that filters air on the premises. In the stacks furnished with compactus shelves the number of microbia spores in the shelves is markedly lower than in the surrounding environment.
