Abstract
This note concerns an instrument described at the Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy, March 9-13, Atlantic City N.J., by David L. Wall, Richard S. Eng, and Arlan W. Mantz. The instrument is based on a lead-salt diode laser, and can measure the isotopic composition of carbon dioxide and, potentially, other compounds as well. Several potential applications of the instrument are mentioned.
