Discussion of using mothballs or cedar-linings to prevent insect damage to stamp collections, albums and mounting materials. Answer raises potential problem of enclosing volatile petro-chemical compounds with stamps which may be printed with oil-base inks, gums, and cancels. Use of mothballs in a stamp storage cabinet for twenty years had no adverse effects on stamps or glassine items.
