Abstract
A study of the plan dimensions of St. Bénigne in Dijon provides evidence for the theoretical thinking of medieval masons. By careful comparison of the present measurements with an eighteenth century survey, it was determined that the restorers who worked on St. Bénigne in the nineteenth century generally respected the original wall lines. The views of Martindale. Sunderland Wethey, and Chomton on the accuracy of the nineteenth century restorations are discussed in some detail. -- AATA
