A life-size plastic mask with roses in place of eyes was received broken, split into two parts horizontally across the bridge of the nose. After the plastic material had been identified as a styrenated alkyd resin, the mask was repaired using a commercial resin similar to the original material and a novel gluing procedure. The surface was refinished where necessary and a new method of mounting was developed to secure the mask in its box.
