Abstract
Microscopic, diffrectometric and chemical analysis showed similarities in the composition of pottery dating from the second half of the third millenium B. C. and soil taken from the Hili 8 archaeological dig (United Arab Emirates). The degree of firing was determined by comparison of thin slices and diffractograms with samples of the soil fired in a gradient kiln at temperatures between 550 and 1200°C. Comparisons promarily dealt with metaphase evolution and the degree of carbonate transformation in the very specific context studied there.
