Abstract
This archaeological area in the Gaza Strip was located in July of 1968; work began in March, 1972. Coffins, skeletons and treasures such as scarabs, gold and carnelian beads, gaming pieces, mirrors, knives and bronze vessels were found, many of which are pictured. Descriptions of excavations and treatments are given. Some dating is done from hieroglyphs (1304-1237 B.C.). The Yom Kippur War interrupted work, which resumed in 1977 and still continues. -- AATA
