A letter drawing attention to the toxicity of toluene following the withdrawal of BEVA 371 solution by its supplier. It is pointed out that paraloid/acryloid B72 also contain toluene, and also require careful handling. More hazards are faced when trying to remove these materials from art works, as copious volumes of toluene would be required.
