In this paper I present some results of an investigation of the spatial patterning exhibited by the lithic materials from Dorset culture sites in coastal Labrador (Nagle n.d.b.). The objective of this research is to use these data to explore how Dorset people adapted to the locational mosaic of the stone resources in Labrador, and consequently, to begin to reconstruct the way or ways in which they acquired different types of stone for use in their economy. I have restricted my discussion here to chipped stone materials alone, in order to be able to present some substantive data and details of the methods used.
