Abstract
The purpose of metal conservation is to restore to the deformed object its signficance and to stabilize the corrosion process. The hazards of cleaning with mineral acids and with electrolysis are briefly discussed. Proper storage of the cleaned object is vital to the preservation process. -- AATA
