Abstract
In part III the characteristics of cast artifacts are discussed relative to potential analytical techniques. The behavior of the gold-silver-copper ternary alloy system in casting is described. A new sample preparation method for the elimination of inter-element effects in x-ray spectroscopy of noble metal alloys is described. An unusual surface coating consisting of copper oxide and silver is described on one piece. This later is discussed relative to potential depletion gilding techniques. Gold-silver-copper compositions are listed for ten of the 11 pieces described in Part II. -- AATA
