Surfaces of porcelain were soaked with a lithium chloride isotope in 1% solution and the depth profile of enrichment was measured by a nuclear reaction method. The enrichment was found up to depths of about 0.1 mm after the samples were dried in shadow, without wind, and with an average air humidity. On the surface, a salt precipitation of 100-1000 angstrom thickness was found. The effect of enrichment and precipitation depends on the porosity of the sample.
