Pottery from the timber-grave culture burials in the lower Don is classified into four groups through parametric analysis. The four groups of pottery are described. The classification reflects two traditions in ceramic production, namely, smoothly curved vessels and sharp rib vessels. Both traditions share the rim-making process and lengthened proportions. The sharp rib form developed into a new form based on the smoothly curved vessel. -- AATA
