Photographic documentation of stained glass windows in northern Britain both in the workshop after restoration and in situ is described. Detailed is the light box in use in the York (England) Glaziers Trust workshop. Among points necessary for good photos are masking around the window to avoid glare, boosting contrast by increasing exposure eight to ten times and reducing development to half normal. Primary photographic record is made in Britain on panchromatic film processed to archival standards. Color transparencies also are made. Also described is a photographic technique using polarized light to accentuate weak inscriptions or to bring out those which seem to be lost. -- AATA
