Abstract
Deals with some enamel painted glass of the 13th-14th centuries which until now have been mostly characterized briefly as Syrian-Frankish, but which are presently accepted as having originated somewhere in Europe. After an introduction that sketches the development of research since the late 19th century, the main part of the article consists of a catalog of the extant pieces in Switzerland (mostly in the Historisches Museum, Basel) which are thought by all to be the basis for further research. Present location and, if known, the origin and basic facts are given for the pieces of glass; following the description of some pieces, the technique of the enamel decoration is observed. Footnotes supply the most important analyses and referencesto other related pieces of glass. -- AATA
